We’re on the move!
It’s finally, finally, finally here! The house that we’ve been building for – has it really been almost two years??? – is finally done and we’ve moved in! Or at least, we’re moving in. The moving vans came and went yesterday, but the process of unpacking and settling in to our new home will take weeks, if not months. To speed up the process we’ve rallied the troops and got all four of our kids and my mom home for the weekend helping. Certainly we’ll get the furniture in place, make the beds, and stock the brand-spanking-new fridge. (Did I mention, we sprang for the fancy-pants Sub Zero refrigerator? Hot damn!) Our week on Maui last week was a restful reprieve from the chaos that has once again taken over our family life, but it’s a craziness that all six of us welcome. All those years that Rob spent in politics weren’t just his job – they were our family’s calling. We met people and visited places we would never have known had we not gone down that path together. Many of you went with us and supported us on that journey. For you, and for all of those experiences, our whole family will always be grateful. Moving to this house truly represents the start of a whole new life for us. We will continue to be active in public and philanthropic causes – it’s in our blood, I suppose. Meanwhile, I’ll be launching my book Eat Like It Matters: How I Lost 120 Pounds and Found My Inner Badass (And How You Can Too!) in just 16 days!!! So I guess the craziness continues on all fronts. All the more reason to make healthy living a priority. Gotta stay on top of my game! Have a happy, healthy week! -Marilyn
