Is it spring yet?
Winter’s certainly coming on strong this year! Depending on where you live, you could be up to your eyeballs in snow and ice, or battling wind-chills below zero. Brrrrrr! I spent the week on the east coast and the freezing temperatures meant all of our activities were driven indoors. That’s just fine with me though, as I’m more than happy to look out the windows at a beautiful Winter Wonderland… just so long as I’m toasty and warm inside!
All of that time indoors means that I’ve been doing a lot of reading, some of which was about the state of obesity in America. We spend a lot of time collectively wringing our hands about it, but I’m beginning to wonder what we’re actually gonna do about it. If you’re wondering too, read this week’s blogs and let me know your thoughts.
I’m on the east coast visiting my dad and his wife, who live on Maryland’s eastern shore. (This photo shows the view of their creek that opens onto the Chesapeake Bay.) Dad knows I’m always “game” to try something new, so he made a pot of his “World-famous Venison Chili.” If you’re all out of deer meat, try making it with ground buffalo or even grass-fed beef. The flavors are so perfect for these cold winter days.
Starting next week, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be doing a video series on strength training. Read my trainer’s blog below to discover why lifting weights is great for weight loss and building muscle, and stay tuned for video demos showing specific moves including modifiers so that you can customize your workout. Can’t wait!
Have a happy, healthy week!
