Q&A(wesome)
A random question posed to me on social media recently (and my answer) prompted me to launch a weekly Q&A blog. It won’t surprise you to learn that I get asked many of the same questions over and over again, so I thought why not answer them in a more public forum??? And so the Q&A(wesome) blog post was born. (The “awesome” part is just because … well, healthy living is awesome!) If you’ve ever wondered – as that recent questioner did – why your stubborn belly bulge seems to have moved in permanently, take a look at “Q&A: How do you lose belly fat?” (linked below). Likewise, Q&A: “Which is harder to lose, the first 10 pounds or the last 10 pounds?” (linked below) is another question I hear frequently. If you’re looking for the Cliffs Notes on this one, the answer is “whichever one you have to lose.” #truth No, I’m not being sarcastic; they’re both challenging, but for very different reasons. Read my full answer to understand why that’s the case and how to be successful whether you want to lose those last ten pounds or you’ve got a much bigger number in mind. So I’ll be hanging out at the (virtual) water cooler if you have any healthy living conundrums you’d like to kick around with me. Reply to this email, gimme a holler on social media or fly a hot air balloon over my house. I stand at the ready. In the meantime, check out …
RE-reading, I should say … A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose (2005), by Eckhart Tolle. This book is like your best yoga class condensed and put in written form. I re-read it almost every year about this time. It helps me put my struggles in perspective and offers insight into our greater purpose.
More fun with a medicine ball, and this time it’s push-ups! And don’t laugh, but check out how I psych myself up for exercise. It keeps it fun and keeps me motivated! It may seem silly, but knowing how to keep healthy living fun and fresh really seals the deal on transformational change. Well, that and I just like to dance around like a teenager! I like to think that I take healthy living seriously, but I don’t take myself too seriously. Have a fun, fresh, happy and healthy week! |
