Meet weight loss success story Cami
Having a hard time losing weight? So was Cami.
Cami participated in the 10-Week, 10-Pound Challenge over the summer, and in fact, she was the Challenge grandprize winner of the Kindle Fire. But what’s most compelling about Cami – besides her charming personality – is what she revealed to me in an email the other day. I asked her if I could share her story because I find it so inspiring; she agreed:
Hi,
I wanted to write to thank you again for all the support during the summer challenge. I was successful in losing 7 lbs. I wasn’t thrilled with the result at the time. Somehow I expected to change a little and lose a lot. Weird how that works – or not as the case may be! Despite not losing as much as I hoped, I did lose and I got plugged in! Of course then I relaxed a little. These last 8 weeks However, I have buckled down even more and today I hit the 20 lb. mark!! I am so excited. I’ve got a ways to go but I know I will get there.
I also joined Weight Watchers 4 weeks ago. One of the ways you recommend tracking food – something that’s critical to my success! I found a time that works and a great leader. The accountability of stepping on a scale in front of another human being is huge for me! And the group support rocks. Plus that little app is right there on my phone to track every little bite, nibble and chew makes it easy take responsibility for what goes in my mouth.
I think of you every time I use my Kindle Fire! Love it. And, you were the very first person I thought of when I weighed in this morning. You got me on the path to good health and I am grateful for your support.
And, keep those e-mails coming. Each of them is a gift wrapped in practical tips, good humor and of course challenges to our actions and thinking! They are awesome!
I will let you know when I shed the next 20! It’s happening.
Cami’s assessment of my role in her success is very generous, but what I find most inspiring about her accomplishment is the change in her mindset that is revealed in that last sentence: “It’s happening.”
Wowzers! Talk about owning the solution! I LOVE it!
Cami’s on her way now and, though she knows it won’t be easy, she’s got a plan in place that works for her and she knows she’s capable of achieving her goals. So. Damn. Awesome.
We each have that drive within us. If you’re still looking for yours, have no fear. It’s probably just around the corner, so keep going!
Have a happy, healthy week!
– Marilyn
